Greetings. New to NAS. I run a little network with 6 servers and a couple of desktops. Right now I have a bunch of external hdds connected up via USB to the different servers for back up. The desktops share one external unit and backup over the network.

The server back ups are the problem. Using Windoze servers and windoze backup. Windoze back up requires it's own partition.

My question: Can I set up a NAS with multiple partitions for the various servers - plus another partition for the desktops that will simply backup into various directories?

Any comments most appreciated. Thank you.

I think you need a NAS with "multiple Raid" support.
Both Thecus N5200 Pro and N7700 has the function, but the maximum raid set you can have is 3.
