I have a Safecom NSUR-10100F NAS drive which carries the RDC 2882 chip. This box was purchased several years ago and runs perfectly with Windows XP and Vista but refuses to talk to Windows 7. I have Microsoft Technical Support investigating this problem at the moment and network traces suggest that Windows 7 is sending the correct calls to the NAS but it only sends errors back. Evidently it does the same with Vista but somehow Vista ignores the errors and makes contact. I have tried contacting Safecom but they appear to be defunct. Is there someone knowledgeable out there who can advise of a firmware source that would work with the RCD 2882 chip and Windows 7 please ?
