    Guys

    I'm after a recommendation for a NAS.

I'll be using it mostly for media streaming (video via DLNA to a media adaptor and music via slimserver) together with bit torrent use and to back up a couple of PCs.

I've narrowed it down to the following

    Synology 410j for $500
    QNAP TS-410 for $600
    Synology 410 for $700

These are rough costs in Australian dollars without disks. I'd put two 2Tb drives in RAID 1 and add two further drives later and migrate to RAID 5.

I'm not too worried about IO speed given there would probably only be one concurrent user. Can the smaller 410j run those media streaming protocols with only 128Mb RAM?

Any experience with these products would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Haga
