Looking for a NAS to work with Vista and Mac OS. Quite Fast and 1-2TB. Will be used around sound and video recording. Backup and content storage. I tried a usb drive on my linksys wireless router and was disappointed.

Thx for any suggestions...

Mike

PS-is the D-Link DNS-343 anygood? It is cheap!

Yeah that one is pretty good- though I personally think it's a bit expensive at $500+. It does support 4 drives. If you only need two drives, the Zyxel NSA-220 is also a good one, as is the Linkstation mini from Buffalo. They're speedy and support the Mac.

I was considering the DROBO before I googled it. Looks like problems.

I am still considering the LACIE 2BIG. Very quiet I am told.

How about quiet?

In general the fewer drives the more quiet the NAS will be (fewer fans required). But yeah any of the two drive NAS devices should be much quieter than your usual PC.

Yeah that looks like a good one too. They just came out with the NetworkSpace so you might want to look into that also.
