Tho feature laden and very quiet, the TerraStation ProII suffers from a basic lack of technology and support. The firmware shipping on this unit (1.22) has a known integration problem with AD domains, producing a permission error which persists. Firmware update resolves this, but the firmware appears to require reformatting the RAID to a RAID 5 system if it has been changed. Tech support are completely disorganized and unaware of any issues.

Further, firmware limitations require that you manually set time zones back and forth to accommodate Daylight Saving time, and a Firmware inability to use special characters will mean that the passing of AD credentials to set up the domain membership will mean you have to sanitize your privileged account passwords if you use complexity requirements.

All in all, very disappointing. We are sending these back hopefully and trying a new manufacturer.
